The stock thermostatic bypass for warming up the Allison transmission quickly in cold weather conditions is a good idea in principle, but in practice we've seen the valve fail forcing trans fluid around the cooler in warm weather conditions that causes dangerous fluid temperatures for built and stock transmissions alike.

Description

OE cooler bypass valves allow transmission fluid to bypass the cooler and flow right back into the transmission, quickly raising the transmission temperature. These OE cooler bypass valves tend to fail, causing the transmission and torque converter to overheat and cause major damage. Our Full Flow Cooler Link connects transmission oil directly to the cooler, keeping the transmission temperature approximately 30° colder and eliminates the risk of the transmission and torque converter overheating. Unlike the OE bypass, our Full Flow Cooler Link won’t plug up and does not need to be removed to flush the cooler.
